Founded in 1894, the members-owned Singapore Swimming Club, with its rich history and heritage, is highly regarded as Singapore’s largest premier non-golfing recreational Club. The Club has grown from an attap hut by a sandbar in the 19th century to the present, a mega complex of modern facilities offering a comprehensive range of recreational amenities including two Olympic-size swimming pools, a 10-lane bowling alley and 10 F&B outlets – Chinese, Western, Japanese, Local, North Indian and Vegetarian cuisine at your service.

Situated on 3 hectares of freehold land nestled amidst an exclusive residential district, the clubhouse is only 6km from the city centre and just a 15-minute drive from the Changi International Airport.

The Club’s founding fathers had a vision – to create an egalitarian Club where all Members, regardless of race or station in life, would be able to enjoy a great deal of bonhomie and camaraderie, participate in a wide range of sports and games, wine and dine at ease – in other words, feel completely at home.

Today, the Singapore Swimming Club remains committed to the enduring qualities of friendship and family that are the soul of the Club, in its continuing goal to be a happy family, social sporting Club. It aims to promote sports and social activities within Members and other similar sporting organisations within Singapore and the region. The Club has been frequently called upon to host swimming competitions, some of which included the Southeast Asia Inter-Club Age Group Swimming Championships (ASEAN Cup) and the Junior Inter-Club Swimming Championships.
